I have a broad range of experience and am fluent in English and Afrikaans. I completed my studies at the University of Stellenbosch and did my internship at the Department of Labour with my exposure ranging from group work in communities, school clinics, team building, selection panels and individual therapy.
I registered with the South African Medical and Dental Council and obtained my practice number 8632855 from the Board of Health Funders.
On completion of my studies I travelled to England and also registered as a psychologist with the British Psychological Society.
In 1996 I worked for The Psychotherapy and Counselling Service in Scunthorpe. A huge learning experience and challenge was being appointed Chief Development Officer for Grimsby and Scunthorpe Rape Crisis Centre. I had to develop the service, do volunteer training and supervison and establish a fully operational helpline. (Article in Grimsby and Scunthorpe Telegraph 17/12/1996)
In 1998 I returned home and started a successful practice in Bloubergrandt doing adult, child and adolescent therapy. In 2004 I relocated to Cape Town to be closer to home and start a family.
At present I work from my home office in Oranjezicht, Cape Town and also do online therapy with local and international clients. I work with adults and offer short and long term therapy.
I work individually with clients but also do joint sessions with any individuals who the client would like include in their therapeutic process.
